The work addresses the issue of music streaming and shows its impact on current forms of its consumption and distribution. It presents how, by dynamically developing and taking over the role of the leading source of listening to music, it has transformed the music market in both of these aspects. It discusses already visible effects such as the change in the importance of traditional music formats, the position of music labels and the role of personalization in shaping the listeners' experience. Considering the constant evolution and growing popularity of music streaming, potential directions of its further impact on consumers and creators are also indicated. By bringing closer the example of the leader among streaming services - Spotify and conducting own research, these issues were taken into account in a thorough analysis of the topic. By analyzing Spotify, the mechanisms that determine the impact of music streaming on the functioning of the music industry and its consumers were indicated. Using authorial research, the tendencies and preferences of users regarding the use of streaming and the use of music streaming platforms were shown.
