Sojusz Piłsudski - Petlura 1920 : asymetria ocen polskich i ukraińskich

The asymmetry of Polish and Ukrainian assessments of the Alliance of 1920 is already evident at the level of names adopted in both historiographies – the Piłsudski–Petlura Alliance and the Warsaw Settlement. The author considers the failure of the Ukrainian Revolution/the Ukrainian struggle for independence, which Ukrainian public opinion attributes to Petlura, as the main reason for this asymmetry. Attitudes to the Alliance depends on the role assigned to it by opinion makers: strategic partnerships or tactics dictated by the situation. The issue of territorial integrity is today the main obstacle to the revision of the Ukrainian assessment of the Alliance.
