A Tour Through Sicily And Malta of Patrick Brydone is a capital text in the odeporic literature of Sicily, where the Scotsman came in 1770. The article aim to show that the work of Brydone set the new frontier of the Grand Tour in Sicily moving it from Naples. In the first part were identified and analysed elements that helped to make attractive in the eyes of other northern travellers that island. Then, on selected examples, the echoes of Brydon’s work were shown in other books on the trip to Sicily and in researches on travellers to Sicily.
