Znaczenie zawodów w skokach narciarskich w Planicy dla kultury słoweńskiej

Praca magisterska poświęcona jest znaczeniu skoków narciarskich w Słowenii ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem Planicy jako miejsca o wyjątkowym statusie symbolicznym nie tylko ze względów sportowych, ale także kulturowych i społecznych. W pierwszym rozdziale podejmuję problem miejsca alpejskości w kulturze narodowej Słoweńców. W drugim przedstawiam genezę dyscypliny w Europie, a następnie w Słowenii, gdzie skoki stały jednym z ważniejszych elementów tożsamości narodowej. Kolejna część koncentruje się na skoczni Planicy, która od początku swojego istnienia zajmuje szczególne miejsce na światowej mapie tego sportu i jest wyrazem sportowych ambicji Słoweńców. Analizie poddano rozwój kompleksu, jego znaczenie dla promocji kraju oraz fakt, że zawody odbywające się w tym miejscu stały się zarówno świętem sportu gromadzącym tysiące kibiców nie tylko ze Słowenii, ale z całego świata, jak i świętem narodowym, wzmacniającym poczucie wspólnotowej przynależności. W dalszej części omówione zostały sportowe kariery trzech słoweńskich skoczków, którzy w ostatnich latach pozostawali po sobie ślad w tej świątyni skoków narciarskich. Peter Prevc stał się ikoną tej dyscypliny po swoim najlepszym w karierze sezonie 2015/2016, Anže Lanišek swoją postawą na zakończenie sezonu 2021/2022 pokazał, że w sporcie nie chodzi jedynie o rywalizację, a Domen Prevc w konkursie kończącym sezon 2024/2025 spełnił marzenia swoich rodaków o powrocie rekordu świata do Planicy. Wszyscy trzej dzięki swemu zaangażowaniu i wynikom zyskali pozycję bohaterów słoweńskiej kultury.

This master's thesis is devoted to the significance of ski jumping in Slovenia, with particular emphasis on Planica as a place of exceptional symbolic status not only for sporting reasons, but also for cultural and social ones. In the first chapter, I address the issue of the place of alpine culture in the national culture of Slovenians. In the second chapter, I present the origins of the discipline in Europe and then in Slovenia, where ski jumping has become one of the most important elements of national identity. The next part focuses on the Planica ski jump, which has occupied a special place on the world map of this sport since its inception and is an expression of the sporting ambitions of Slovenians. The analysis covers the development of the complex, its importance for the promotion of the country, and the fact that the competitions held there have become both a sporting event attracting thousands of fans not only from Slovenia but from all over the world, and a national holiday, strengthening the sense of community belonging. The rest of the article discusses the sporting careers of three Slovenian ski jumpers who have left their mark on this temple of ski jumping in recent years. Peter Prevc became an icon of the discipline after his best season in 2015/2016, Anže Lanišek showed with his performance at the end of the 2021/2022 season that sport is not just about competition, and Domen Prevc fulfilled his compatriots' dreams of bringing the world record back to Planica in the competition ending the 2024/2025 season. All three, thanks to their commitment and results became a heros in Slovenian culture
