Cucire la narrazione: autobiografia, autofiction e patchwork nei testi delle creatrici di moda. Il caso di Elsa Schiaparelli e quello di Vivienne Westwood.

Praca licencjacka poświęcona jest analizie komparatystycznej tekstów dwóch znaczących postaci ze świata mody: Elsy Schiaparelli oraz Vivienne Westwood. Badanie opiera się na hipotezie, że rozpatrywane publikacje stanowią rozszerzenie procesu kreowania własnej tożsamości twórczej. W pierwszym rozdziale omówione zostają cechy gatunku autobiografii, pojęcie autofikcji, prawda w narracji autobiograficznej oraz motyw patchworku. Rozdział drugi koncentruje się na postaci Elsy Schiaparelli, historii jej życia oraz analizie sposobu, w jaki autorka „szyje” swoją rzeczywistość i tożsamość poprzez formę tekstu autobiograficznego. Rozdział trzeci przedstawia postać projektantki oraz aktywistki Vivienne Westwood oraz bada tekst wielogłosowy w formie wywiadu, wzbogacony o komentarze osób jej bliskich. Ostatnia część zestawia obie książki w perspektywie komparatystycznej, badając podobieństwa, różnice i wielowymiarowość reprezentacji tożsamości oraz kreatywności w tekstach twórczyń mody.

The bachelor’s thesis focuses on a comparative analysis of the texts of two significant figures from the world of fashion: Elsa Schiaparelli and Vivienne Westwood. The study is based on the hypothesis that the examined publications constitute an extension of the process of creating one’s own creative identity. The first chapter discusses the features of the autobiography genre, the concept of autofiction, truth in autobiographical narration, and the motif of patchwork. The second chapter focuses on Elsa Schiaparelli, the story of her life, and an analysis of the way in which the author “stitches” her reality and identity through the form of the autobiographical text. The third chapter presents the figure of the designer and activist Vivienne Westwood and examines the polyphonic text in the form of an interview, enriched with comments from those close to her. The final part compares the two books from a comparative perspective, examining similarities, differences, and the multidimensionality of the representation of identity and creativity in the texts of fashion creators.

La tesi di laurea triennale si concentra su un’analisi comparatistica dei testi di due figure significative del mondo della moda: Elsa Schiaparelli e Vivienne Westwood. Lo studio si basa sull’ipotesi che le pubblicazioni esaminate costituiscano un’estensione del processo di creazione della propria identità creativa. Nel primo capitolo vengono trattate le caratteristiche del genere autobiografico, il concetto di autofiction, la verità nella narrazione autobiografica e il motivo del patchwork. Il secondo capitolo si concentra sulla figura di Elsa Schiaparelli, sulla storia della sua vita e sull’analisi del modo in cui l’autrice “cuce” la propria realtà e identità attraverso la forma del testo autobiografico. Il terzo capitolo presenta la figura della stilista e attivista Vivienne Westwood ed esamina il testo polifonico in forma di intervista, arricchito dai commenti delle persone a lei vicine. L’ultima parte mette a confronto i due libri in una prospettiva comparatistica, analizzando le somiglianze, le differenze e la multidimensionalità della rappresentazione dell’identità e della creatività nei testi delle creatrici di moda.
