Genre grammatical des emprunts à l’anglais dans le français d'aujourd'hui : le cas des emprunts composés avec « food »

Praca poświęcona jest analizie przypisywania rodzaju gramatycznego anglicyzmom w języku francuskim. W pierwszej części pracy przedstawiono tło teoretyczne problemu: opisano kategorię rodzaju gramatycznego ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem rzeczowników francuskich, przedstawiono historię kontaktów języka francuskiego i angielskiego, a także zreferowano badania mające na celu wyodrębnienie kryteriów formalnych i semantycznych wpływających na przypisanie rodzaju zapożyczeniom w języku francuskim. W drugiej części pracy przedstawiono wyniki własnego badania ilościowo-jakościowego na materiale anglicyzmów z „food” w korpusie French Web 2023. Wyniki badania pokazały, że zapożyczenia cechuje często wysoki stopień chwiejności rodzaju gramatycznego, zaś czynniki wpływające na przypisanie rodzaju są złożone, można jednak powiedzieć, że ważną rolę odgrywają w nim czynniki semantyczne.

The master’s thesis is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of assigning a grammatical gender to English loanwords in French. The first part of the thesis summarizes the theoretical background of the problem: the category of grammatical gender is described with special attention paid to French nouns, the history of the interactions between French and English is presented, and the studies aimed at distinguishing formal and semantic criteria influencing the gender assignment in French are summarized. The second part of the thesis presents the results of the author’s own quantitative and qualitative study of English loanwords with “food” in the corpus French Web 2023. The results showed that loanwords often exhibit a high degree of instability of grammatical gender, and the factors influencing gender assignment are complex, but among them the semantic factors play an important role.

Le mémoire est consacré à l’analyse de l’attribution du genre aux anglicismes dans le français. Dans la première partie du mémoire, nous avons présenté le cadre théorique du problème : nous avons décrit la catégorie du genre grammatical, particulièrement dans les substantifs français, nous avons présenté l’histoire des contacts du français et l’anglais et nous avons donné un aperçu des études visant à distinguer les critères formels et sémantiques qui influencent l’attribution du genre grammatical en français. Dans la seconde partie du mémoire, nous avons présenté les résultats de notre propre étude quantitative et qualitative sur les anglicismes avec food dans le corpus French Web 2023. Ces résultats ont montré que les emprunts se caractérisent souvent par un degré d'instabilité du genre grammatical élevé, les facteurs qui influencent l’attribution du genre sont complexes, mais les facteurs sémantiques y jouent un rôle important.
