Activité de traduction des fans : à partir de la communauté française des fans de Harry Potter

Niniejsza praca magisterska poświęcona jest fandomowi Harry'ego Pottera we Francji, za punkt wyjścia obierając analizę nieoficjalnego tłumaczenia ostatniego tomu sagi, pt. „Harry Potter i Insygnia Śmierci”, opracowanego przez grupę fanów przed ukazaniem się przekładu Jean François Ménarda. Operając się zarówno na podejściu translatorskim, jak i socjologicznym, niniejsza praca ma na celu przyjrzenie się i analizę fandomu Harry'ego Pottera we Francji, grupie fanów, która przetłumaczyła siódmy tom sagi oraz oficjalnemu tłumaczowi. W tej pracy, autor stara się nakreślić motywacje fanów do podjęcia tłumaczenia i sposób, w jaki fani do tłumaczenia podchodzą. W przeciwieństwie do oficjalnego tłumacza, fani nie są zaznajomieni z normami tłumaczeniowymi. Ich głównym celem jest zachowanie aspektów, które pomagają zachować autentyczność świata przedstawionego w Harry'm Potterze. Porównanie dwóch przetłumaczonych tekstów, Jean-François Ménarda i fanów, uwypukla dwa kompletnie różne podejścia do tłumaczenia.

This thesis focuses on the Harry Potter fandom in France, taking as its starting point the analysis of the unofficial translation of the last volume of the saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, done by a group of fans before the publication of the official translation by Jean-François Ménard. Based on both translation studies and sociological approaches, this thesis aims to examine and analyse the Harry Potter fandom in France, the fan group that translated the seventh volume of the saga and the way of translating of the official translator. The author intends to explore the motivations that prompted the fans to undertake the translation, as well as their approach to the translation process. Unlike the official translator, fans are not familiar with professional translation standards. Their main goal is to preserve the elements that contribute to maintaining the authenticity of the fictional world depicted in Harry Potter. The comparison between the translation by Jean-François Ménard and the fan version highlights two different approaches to translation.

Ce mémoire s’intéresse au fandom d’Harry Potter en France prenant comme point de départ l’analyse de la traduction non officielle du dernier tome de la saga intitulé « Harry Potter et les reliques de la mort ». Elle a été conçue par le groupe de fans avant la parution de la traduction officielle de Jean-François Ménard. En adoptant l’optique traductologique et à la fois sociologique, nous voudrions nous interroger sur le fandom français d'Harry Potter, le groupe ayant traduit le septième volume de la saga et le traducteur officiel. Nous tentons de déterminer des motivations des fans et leur façon de procéder à la traduction. Contrairement au traducteur officiel, les fans ne connaissent pas les normes de traduction ; ils cherchent avant tout à conserver tout élément perpétuant l’authenticité de l’univers d’Harry Potter. La confrontation de deux textes traduits, celui de Jean-François Ménard et celui des fans, met en évidence deux conceptions complétement différentes de ce qu’est la traduction.
