Superbohaterowie i antybohaterowie: społeczny rezonans komiksów i ich adaptacji filmowych

Niniejsza praca analizuje wpływ komiksów superbohaterskich oraz ich adaptacji filmowych na codzienne funkcjonowanie, światopogląd i system wartości odbiorców. Głównym celem badawczym było zweryfikowanie roli współczesnej popkultury jako źródła wzorców osobowych i moralnych. Praca składa się z czterech rozdziałów, w których omówiono genezę kultury geek, historię i specyfikę medium komiksowego, metodologię badań własnych opartą na kwestionariuszu ankiety oraz szczegółową analizę zebranego materiału empirycznego. Wyniki badań własnych wykazały, że opowieści superbohaterskie pełnią istotną funkcję społeczno-kulturową i edukacyjną. Postacie fikcyjne stanowią dla respondentów źródło wartości moralnych, takich jak odwaga, empatia i odpowiedzialność, a ich „ludzki” charakter sprzyja silnej identyfikacji z uwagi na ukazywanie uniwersalnych problemów życiowych. Analiza empiryczna potwierdza również, że uniwersa te pomagają w budowaniu relacji społecznych i kształtowaniu tożsamości w ramach społeczności fanowskich, łącząc funkcję rozrywkową z uwrażliwianiem odbiorców na realne problemy społeczne.

This thesis analyses the influence of superhero comics and their film adaptations on the everyday lives, worldviews and value systems of their audiences. The main research objective was to examine the role of contemporary popular culture as a source of personal and moral role models. The thesis consists of four chapters, which discuss the origins of geek culture, the history and specific nature of the comic book medium, the methodology of the original research based on a questionnaire, and a detailed analysis of the empirical data collected. The results of the own research showed that superhero stories fulfil an important socio-cultural and educational function. For the respondents, fictional characters are a source of moral values such as courage, empathy and responsibility, and their ‘human’ nature fosters strong identification due to the portrayal of universal life problems. The empirical analysis also confirms that these universes help to build social relationships and shape identity within fan communities, combining an entertainment function with raising audiences’ awareness of real social issues.
