Zeitungen und Magazine der deutschen Rechten online als Alternative bundesdeutscher Mainstream-Medien. Einblicke in ein Forschungsvorhaben

The author of the article outlines his research intent which is a qualitative analysis of the right- wing German newspapers and magazines available online as an alternative to the mainstream media in Germany. The research project encompasses the conservative media currently available on the market, with special emphasis on the time frame since the eruption of the so-called migra- tion crisis in the autumn of 2015 that has been related to the opening of the German borders and to an uncontrollable influx of refugees. The article presents the methodological basis of the project, and the numerical data regarding the analysed media. Moreover, the paper examines the figures of selected authors and their links with right-wing institutions and organizations, as well as the topics they tackle in their articles and the language they use. Furthermore, the author points out the undertaking of a comparative study regarding the way the right-wing media func- tions in Germany and in Poland.
