Developing Cultural and Literary Awareness in the Classroom through the Educative Role of Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery

Praca licencjacka jest podzielona na dwa rozdziały: teoretyczny i praktyczny. W rozdziale pierwszym przedstawiona zostanie powieść Lucy Maud Montgomery “Ania z Zielonego Wzgórza” oraz krótka biografia autorki. W tejże części wyjaśnione zostanie pojęcie “kultura” i jej znaczenie w nauczaniu języka angielskiego jako języka obcego. W części drugiej opisane zostaną trzy zaplanowane i przeprowadzone lekcje, a także ich wyniki, klasa w której lekcje zostały przeprowadzone, szkoła oraz ogólne wnioski po zakończeniu projektu. Po tej części w załączniku znajdują się wszystkie materiały dydaktyczne potrzebne do przeprowadzenia lekcji.

The diploma project is divided into two chapters: theoretical and practical. In chapter one Anne of Green Gables, the novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery is introduced along with a short biography of the novel’s author. In that same part the author of the project strives to explain the term “culture” and its significance in teaching English as a foreign language. In chapter two the author describes three lesson plans, the lessons conducted in accordance with them, the results of those lessons, class and school in which they took place and general conclusions after the project has finished its course. After that chapter, at the end of the project, there is an appendix with all the materials needed for lessons.
