In the world of pure tragedy: Poland in the works of Giorgio Caproni — In August 1948, the Italian poet Giorgio Caproni made a trip to Poland to attend the World Congress of Intellectuals in Defense of Peace which took place in Wrocław. This contribution deals with the image of Poland and the Poles that emerges on the pages of the diary drafted during the stay as well as in later published short stories and newspaper articles.
