"Za okrzyk »Precz z Piłsudskim!« kulą w łeb" - przypadek Szyi Grinwalda jako przykład brutalizacji życia publicznego w międzywojennej Polsce

The article is a case study of the tragic December 1929 death of Tsukunft member Szyja Grinwald and of the trial of the suspected assassin. The analysis is based first and foremost on press reports due to the overwhelming influence of the press on the shaping of social attitudes in the 2nd Republic. The events are shown against the broader background of political tension over the plans to amend the Constitution and the authoritarian state policy line. Grinwald’s case serves here to portray the brutal street politics of the two decades separating the two world wars and the ways it was used instrumentally by various social actors.
