Metareflection: a Method for Philosophy
Abstrakt (EN)
This paper presents a method of philosophical investigation rooted in the interrelations between psychological concepts and logical concepts. The proposed account describes philosophical method as a first-person introspective analysis of psychological concepts and a further synthesis of logical concepts on the grounds of the content of psychological concepts, guided by various theoretical objectives. What is needed for the use of this method, as its cognitive prerequisite, is first-person access to the content of concepts in both senses, which takes the form of a multi-level hierarchy of rational metareflection. The notions of philosophical intuition and thought experiment are discussed within the proposed framework. So is experimental philosophy.
