Gudea’s Two Foundation Inscriptions in a Polish Private Collection

The texts published below are further specimens of the same, well and long known foundation inscription of Gudea, the most outstanding ruler of the 2nd dynasty of Lagaš who reigned, according to traditional middle chronology, in the years 2144-2124 B.C. Both these historical objects are part of an anonymous private collection in Poland. The inscription commemorates the restoration or, more precisely, the expansion or re-arrangement of the E-ninnu temple of god Ningirsu, the main god of the city-state Girsu-Lagaš.
