„Matki zmian” i „bojowniczki światła”. Kobieca twarz białoruskich protestów i kontrkultury

The aim of the article is to analyse the image of women in the Belarusian counterculture in 2020. The active participation of women in the protests following the presidential elections in Belarus led observers of the events to conclude that they had a female dimen- sion. It also entailed an artistic response of the “street” to the image of the Belarusian woman as a politically passive housewife created by official propaganda. The new image of Belarusian women emphasizes their consolidating role in building a community of resistance, which is created through civic solidarity and mutual support in the pursuit of common goals. Women have become a cultural formation aware of their roles – both traditional and new.
