Th is paper examines space and spatiality in two Spanish dramatic works: Paisaje sin casas (1991) by Pablo Ley and Era el amor como un simio y viceversa (2011) by Enrique Olmos de Ita. We approach the spatial dimension of both plays within the framework of the so-called spatial turn, which off ers a unique perspective on the relationship between space and societal issues. Both Paisaje sin casas and Era el amor… capture a wide array of social crises and portray the tensions that arise from them. However, the critique of these sociopolitical problems does not stem from the dramatic action itself, which in these plays is attenuated. Instead, we demonstrate how the aforementioned tensions are (re)produced in each space, thus confi guring the dramatic mapping of a society in crisis. , Spanish Th eatre, Urban Space, Social Space
