Traducción de los nombres propios en la versión española de la serie Friends

Celem niniejszego badania jest analiza tłumaczeń nazw własnych pojawiających się w serialu telewizyjnym Przyjaciele. Dokonano porównania tłumaczeń z języka angielskiego na język hiszpański, koncentrując się na zastosowanych technikach tłumaczeniowych. W części teoretycznej celem było przedstawienie podziału i kategorii nazw własnych, a także technik tłumaczeniowych stosowanych w przekładzie filmowym. W części praktycznej przeanalizujemy również technikę pod kątem konsekwencji wyborów tłumacza na przestrzeni lat tworzenia serialu. Analiza ma również na celu sprawdzenie jakości wykonanego tłumaczenia, technik, które zostały niewłaściwie zastosowane oraz przedstawienie ewentualnie bardziej odpowiednich rozwiązań. Na tej podstawie skupiono się na analizie i rozpoznaniu zastosowanych technik, ocenie ich na konkretnych przykładach, a także wpływie tłumaczenia na kulturę docelową. Głównym źródłem przykładów w części praktycznej są transkrypcje scenariuszy hiszpańskiej i angielskiej wersji serialu. Wyniki analizy pokazują, że tłumacz dobrze poradził sobie z powierzonym mu zadaniem i podejmował w większości trafne decyzje w zakresie wyboru technik tłumaczeniowych. Ponieważ badanie koncentrowało się tylko na trzech poddziedzinach onomastyki, otwiera ono możliwość rozszerzenia analizy na inne kategorie w przyszłości.

The aim of this study is to analyse the translations of the proper names that appear in the television series Friends. A comparison has been made between the translations made from English into Spanish, focusing on the translation techniques used. In the theoretical part, the aim was to present the division and categories of proper names, as well as the translation techniques used in film translation. In the practical part, we will also analyse the technique in terms of the consequences of the translator's choices over the years of the creation of the series. The analysis also aims to check the quality of the translation carried out, the techniques that have been misapplied and to present possibly more appropriate solutions. On this basis, the focus is on analysing and recognising the techniques used, evaluating them with concrete examples, as well as the impact of the translation on the target culture. The main source for the examples in the practical section are the transcripts of the scripts of the Spanish and English versions of the series. The results of the analysis show that the translator coped well with the assigned task and made mostly sound decisions in the choice of translation techniques. Since the study only focused on three subfields of onomastics, it opens the possibility of extending the analysis to other categories in the future.

El objetivo de este estudio es analizar las traducciones de los nombres propios que aparecen en la serie de televisión Friends. Se ha realizado una comparación entre las traducciones realizadas del inglés al español, centrándose en las técnicas de traducción empleadas. En la parte teórica, el objetivo era presentar la división y las categorías de los nombres propios, así como las técnicas de traducción utilizadas en la traducción cinematográfica. En la parte práctica, analizaremos también la técnica en función de las consecuencias de las elecciones del traductor a lo largo de los años de creación de la serie. El análisis también pretende comprobar la calidad de la traducción realizada, las técnicas mal aplicadas y presentar soluciones posiblemente más adecuadas. Partiendo de esta base, la atención se centra en analizar y reconocer las técnicas utilizadas, evaluándolas con ejemplos concretos, así como el impacto de la traducción en la cultura de llegada. La fuente principal de la que se extraen los ejemplos de la sección práctica son las transcripciones de los guiones de las versiones española e inglesa de la serie. Los resultados del análisis muestran que el traductor se enfrentó bien a la tarea asignada y tomó decisiones en su mayoría acertadas en la elección de las técnicas de traducción. Dado que el estudio sólo se centró en tres subcampos de la onomástica, se abre la posibilidad de ampliar el análisis a otras categorías en el futuro.
