The goal of this thesis is an overview of the Hittite purulli- festival. It includes a description of its historical context and the contents of a variety of texts mentioning the celebration. The Myth of Illuyanka related to the festival and preserved in two versions, as well as its interpretations are also presented. The thesis compares the information gathered in those sources and describes the current state of research about the given topic.
