La debilidad como un valor en los textos de Julio Cortázar y Horacio Quiroga

W niniejszej pracy badaniu poddany został problem nadania wartości zjawisku o charakterze pojmowanym tradycyjnie jako negatywny, jakim jest słabość, szukając dowodów na możliwość dokonania takiego działania w literaturze latynoamerykańskiej. Praca zawiera różnorodne ilustracje badanego zjawiska. „Gra w klasy” Julio Cortazara wpisuje je w dychotomię rozumu i tego, co irracjonalne. W lekturze opowiadań tego autora ukazane są decentracja tożsamości, ucieczka oraz inercja. W opowiadaniach Horacio Quirogi doświadczenie słabości powiązane jest z pogodzeniem się ze śmiercią ciała, lecz także z niezgodą, gdy śmierć dotyka bliskiej osoby. Ostatnia z ilustracji przedstawia spotkanie ludzkiego z nie-ludzkim, zainicjowane przez przedstawicieli drugiej ze sfer. Ważnym wątkiem pracy jest próba obrony i odmiennej niż krytyczna interpretacji postaw kojarzonych z pragnieniem uzyskania kontroli oraz uniknięcia odpowiedzialności. Celem pracy jest obrona tezy, iż stan słabości bliski jest fundamentalnej dynamice życia. Dokonane interpretacje oparte są o refleksje filozoficzne wokół paradoksalnego stanu organizacji doświadczenia nie polegającej na narzucaniu rzeczywistości woli jednostki.

This paper examines the problem of giving value to a phenomenon traditionally understood as negative, such as weakness, looking for evidence of the possibility of doing so in Latin American literature. The work includes a variety of illustrations of the phenomenon under study. Julio Cortazar's “Hopscotch” places it within the dichotomy of reason and the irrational. A reading of this author's short stories shows the decentralization of identity, escape and inertia. In Horacio Quiroga's stories, the experience of weakness is linked to coming to terms with the death of the body, but also to disagreement when death touches a loved one. The last illustration depicts an encounter between the human and the non-human, initiated by representatives of the second sphere. An important strand of the work is the attempt to defend and interpret in a non-critical manner the attitudes associated with the desire to gain control and avoid responsibility. The aim of the work is to defend the thesis that the state of weakness is close to the fundamental dynamics of life. The interpretations made are based on philosophical reflections around the paradoxical state of the organization of experience not involving the imposition of the will of the individual on the reality.

Este trabajo examina el problema de dar valor a un fenómeno tradicionalmente entendido como negativo, como la debilidad, buscando pruebas de la posibilidad de hacerlo en literatura latinoamericana. La obra incluye diversas ilustraciones del fenómeno estudiado. “Rayuela” de Julio Cortázar lo sitúa dentro de la dicotomía de la razón y lo irracional. En la lectura de los cuentos de este autor se muestran: el descentramiento de la identidad, la huida y la inercia. En los cuentos de Horacio Quiroga, la experiencia de la debilidad está ligada al acto de asumir la muerte del cuerpo, pero también a la rebeldía cuando la muerte toca a un ser querido. La última ilustración representa un encuentro entre lo humano y lo no humano, iniciado por representantes de la segunda esfera. Una vertiente importante de la obra es el intento de defender e interpretar de forma diferente a la crítica las actitudes asociadas al deseo de obtener el control y evitar la responsabilidad. El objetivo de la obra es defender la tesis de que el estado de debilidad se acerca a la dinámica fundamental de la vida. Las interpretaciones realizadas se basan en reflexiones filosóficas en torno al estado paradójico de la organización de la experiencia no que implica la imposición de la voluntad del individuo sobre la realidad.
