Abstrakt (EN)

In the text the author presents an introductory reflection on “The Pedagogical Quarterly” special issue Philosophy and education – the polysemy of sources, contexts and borderlines. She gives an outline of the main content of different articles collected in the issue, giving a justification of the way in which they are ordered. In this way the issue is presented as a conversation in which the point of view of the other is emphasised, rather than a random enumeration of collected standpoints. Thus, the author (being aware that the organisation of the contents already denotes an interpretation) not only draws the readers’ attention to the meaningful ambiguity of different terminological interpretations, but presents as well a conviction of the philosophical core of education itself, and vice versa the educational aspect of philosophy (considered as a shaping experience of understanding, rather than hyper-intellectualisation imposed on human lives).
