Abstrakt (EN)
The aim of this review paper is to summary the research of many explorers concerning the iconography of Akathistos in the orthodox painting in the territory or the First Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The first part summarizes the history of the research and bibliography in European context. In the second part are presented three cycles of Akathistos preserved in orthodox churches in the former Commonwealth: in Ławrów (ukr. Lavriv, Ukraine) from the half of 16th cent. (9 scenes, fragmentarily preserved); in Supraśl (Poland) from 1557, in the church blown up in 1944 (16 scenes known fragmentarily from archival photographic documentation); and in the wooden church of St. George in Drohobych from 1659–66. The last case is the only full cycle of 24 scenes, based on the woodcut prom Lenten Triodion edited in Kyiv in 1627.
