The Cosentino dialect has produced a vast literature that dates back to the 15th century. Most of the research conducted on this dialect has focused on the spoken language in terms of acoustic phonetics and, more recently, on the structural configurations which underlie the distribution of agreement of adjectival adverbs of manner. However, studies on the literary varieties of Cosentino are lacking, both from a synchronic and a diachronic perspective. The present article aims at providing a classification of the Cosentino adverbs used in the recent translation of Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince, which can serve as a basis for further investigation and comparison.
