»J’erre sans dessein & sans plan«. Le Voyage en Turquie et en Egypte de Jean Potocki et les changements dans le (récit de) voyage oriental

The paper shows the changes appearing in the travelogues at the end of the 18Ith century, announcing the Romantic way of travelling and describing the travel. Those changes are discussed through the analysis of Voyage en Turquie et en Egypte (1788) by Jean Potocki (1761-1815), Polish traveler, adventurer and writer, writing in French. The paper is divided into three parts. The first one shows the changes in the way of writing, the second in the way of travelling and the last one in the attitude towards the Other.
