A will from Sinkepha (Oxyrhynchites): P. Heid. inv. 939 R + PSI V 4751

P. Heid. inv. 939 r (fr. 2) is an unpublished fragment kept in the collection of the Institute of Papyrology at the University of Heidelberg, while PSI V 475 (fr. 1) was published in 1917. Fr. 1 consists of 21 lines, of which the last two, written in a different hand, are separated from the rest of the text by a vacat (1.5 cm). It is complete with both the lower (2.25 cm) and upper (2 cm) margins but is missing text on the right and left sides, which seem to be torn or cut off. Fr. 2 has only its upper margin preserved, which is taller than that of the first fragment, but this difference does not preclude a match between fragments, as it is not rare for writing to descend from left to right. The lower margin of Fr. 2 is not preserved and the text ends after 18 lines with a regular edge, but a trace below the final line shows that the text likely continued. The verso of both fragments is blank
