Przemiany struktury narodowościowo-wyznaniowej Przemyśla w XX wieku w świetle analizy krajobrazu sakralnego miasta

Celem pracy jest zbadanie zmian struktury narodowościowo-wyznaniowej Przemyśla w XX wieku w świetle analizy krajobrazu sakralnego miasta. Zasięg terytorialny badań obejmuje współczesne granice administracyjne Przemyśla wraz z przyległymi obszarami, a zasięg czasowy dzieli się na cztery podokresy: lata 1900-1918, 1918-1945, 1945-1989 oraz 1989-2000. W pracy przeanalizowano literaturę przedmiotu, materiały kartograficzne i źródła demograficzne, dodatkowo opracowano cztery autorskie mapy tematyczne przedstawiające sieć i funkcje obiektów dużej architektury sakralnej w Przemyślu dla poszczególnych etapów XX wieku. Przeprowadzone postępowanie badawcze potwierdziło założone hipotezy. Analiza sieci jednostek kultu religijnego bezpośrednio odzwierciedliła transformacje Przemyśla z galicyjskiego ośrodka o charakterze wielokulturowym, ze strukturą trójdzielną w miasto niemal jednolite narodowościowo i wyznaniowo. Wydarzenia II wojny światowej doprowadziły do unicestwienia tkanki społeczno-kulturowej związanej z judaizmem, a późniejsze wysiedlenia i polityka okresu PRL wywołały marginalizację struktur grekokatolickich oraz dominację Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego. Przełom po 1989 roku przyniósł częściową sprawiedliwość dziejową oraz rekonstrukcję dawnego charakteru miasta poprzez zwrot mienia kościelnego.

The aim of this study is to examine the changes in the national and religious structure of Przemyśl in the 20th century in the light of the analysis of the city's sacred landscape. The territorial scope of the research covers the contemporary administrative boundaries of Przemyśl along with adjacent areas, while the temporal scope is divided into four sub-periods: 1900-1918, 1918-1945, 1945-1989, and 1989-2000. The study analyzes the relevant literature, cartographic materials, and demographic sources; additionally, four original thematic maps were developed, illustrating the network and functions of major sacred architecture objects in Przemyśl across the respective stages of the 20th century. The conducted research confirmed the assumed hypotheses. The analysis of the network of religious worship units directly reflected the transformation of Przemyśl from a multicultural Galician center with a tripartite structure into a city nearly homogeneous in terms of nationality and religion. The events of World War II led to the destruction of the socio-cultural fabric associated with Judaism, while subsequent deportations and the policies of the Polish People's Republic (PRL) period resulted in the marginalization of Greek Catholic structures and the dominance of the Roman Catholic Church. The breakthrough after 1989 brought partial historical justice and the reconstruction of the city's former character through the restitution of church property.
