Old Egyptian Grapho-phonemic in Writing of Foreign Names

The aim of this study is to examine the linguistic situation in North-Eastern Africa during the Old Kingdom and to evaluate the values of Old Egyptian graphemes on the basis of the spellings of foreign names during the Old Kingdom. The conclusions regarding the linguistic situation can be corroborated by the findings of the analysis of the foreign names corpus, and the results of the grapho-phonemic analysis of the foreign names can be used to more accurately determine the phonological values of Old Egyptian graphemes and to validate the findings of the analysis of the linguistic situation during the Old Kingdom.
