Bruno Schulz – Zenon Waśniewski. Biografie równoległe

Głównym celem artykułu jest wskazanie przypadkowej równoległości rozwoju dwóch niezależnych od siebie biografii. Bruno Schulz i Zenon Waśniewski od 1910 do 1913 r. studiowali razem na Wydziale Budownictwa Lądowego w Cesarsko-Królewskiej Szkole Politechnicznej we Lwowie, a ich drogi rozeszły się aż do 1934 r., czyli do głośnej premiery Sklepów cynamonowych. W korespondencji relacja mężczyzn zyskała drugie życie – obaj odkryli łączące ich podobieństwa, a także pokrewieństwo artystyczne. Autorka opisuje wzajemną fascynację artystów swoimi pracami, wymianę doświadczeń warsztatowych, spotkanie w Zakopanem, dzielenie się trudami pracy nauczycielskiej oraz szarej rzeczywistości. Artykuł jest zbiorem faktów, analiz i interpretacji stworzonym na podstawie ocalałej korespondencji i materiałów biograficznych.

The article aims to demonstrate the accidental yet parallel development of two independent biographies. Between 1910 and 1913, Schulz and Waśniewski studied together at the Department of Civil Engineering at the Imperial and Royal Polytechnic School in Lviv. Their paths diverged thereafter and did not cross again until 1934, the year of the acclaimed premiere of Sklepy cynamonowe (Cinnamon Shops). Through their correspondence, their relationship took on a new life: they discovered affinities that connected them as well as a shared artistic kinship. The author examines the artists’ mutual fascination with each other’s work, their exchange of artistic and technical experience, their meeting in Zakopane, and their reflections on the hardships of teaching and the monotony of everyday life. The article brings together facts, analyses, and interpretations based on surviving correspondence and biographical materials.
