Polityka historyczna i tworzenie legendy Sheikh Mujibura Rahmana we współczesnym Bangladeszu

Praca jest badaniem wybranych przykładów polityki historycznej skupionej na postaci Bangabandhu Sheikha Mujibura Rahmana, pierwszego prezydenta Bangladeszu, nazywanego Ojcem Narodu, uprawianej przez rządzącą partię Liga Awami z premier Sheikh Hasiną na czele, w celu wzmocnienia legitymizacji władzy. Zostały w niej także przedstawione zarys historii Bangladeszu i narodu banglijskiego oraz biografia Sheikha Mujibura Rahmana, niezbędne do zrozumienia jego legendy i umieszczające działania partii rządzącej w odpowiednim kontekście.

This thesis examines selected examples of the politics of memory in Bangladesh, done by the ruling Awami League party and prime minister Sheikh Hasina, focused on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the first president of Bangladesh who has been named Father of the Nation. These politics are being done to strenghten the legitimation of power. Moreover, the thesis gives an overview of the history of Bangladesh and Bangladeshi nation as well as a biography of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Both are essential to understand his legend and put the actions of the ruling party in the right context.
