The Therapeutic Options of Libraries, Museums and the Collections and Their Impact on Social Capital

The article presents the possibility of a therapeutic impact of cultural heritage institutions on social capital. A special role has been given to libraries and museums which, through their collections, can contribute to the improvement of people's daily lives. The assumptions and methodology of bibliotherapy and, similarly, museotherapy were presented. The usefulness of these methods for minimizing and solving various problems of modern man related to his mental and somatic ailments, lack of acceptance and self-acceptance or social exclusion caused by various factors was shown.
