Migranci z Bliskiego Wschodu w polityce Unii Europejskiej

Wybór tematu dysertacji został podyktowany wzrostem znaczenia problemu migrantów z Bliskiego Wschodu w warunkach integracji europejskiej i prób kształtowania się tożsamości europejskiej. Jednym z głównych celów, które autor chce osiągnąć w niniejszej dysertacji jest identyfikacja, szczegółowa analiza oraz gruntowna prezentacja czynników kształtujących problemy migrantów z Bliskiego Wschodu, w tym przede wszystkim problemy wynikające z ich odmienności kulturowej. Zasadniczą ideą podjętych starań jest nie tyle ustalenie czynników kształtujących tożsamość zbiorową bliskowschodnich imigrantów, ale przede wszystkim zwrócenie uwagi na znaczenie identyfikacji zbiorowej imigrantów jako elementu funkcjonalnego polityki migracyjnej Wspólnoty oraz problemów z integracją migrantów w kontekście polityki Unii Europejskiej. Autor podjął się także oceny szans integracji migrantów z Bliskiego Wschodu ze społecznościami krajów europejskich, próby stworzenia prognozy w zakresie identyfikacji wartości uniwersalnych, na bazie których przybysze z Bliskiego Wschodu wraz z mieszkańcami Starego Kontynentu mogliby współtworzyć wciąż kształtującą się tożsamość europejską.

The choice of the dissertation topic was determined by the growing importance of the problem concerning migrants from the Middle East in the conditions of European integration and attempts of creating a European identity. One of the main goals the author wants to achieve in this thesis is identification, deep analysis and thorough presentation of factors that lead to the problems of the Middle East migrants, including mainly the problems arising from their cultural differences. The principal idea of the undertaken efforts is not only to determine the factors developing the collective identity of Middle Eastern immigrants, but foremost to draw attention to the importance of immigrants’ collective identification as a functional element of the Community migration policy and problems concerning the integration of migrants in the context of European Union policy. The author tried to assess the chances of integrating migrants from the Middle East with the communities of European countries, and make a forecast for the identification of universal values on the basis of which newcomers from the Middle East together with the population of Old Continent could jointly create still developing European identity.
