Analiza wyborów do Parlamentu Europejskiego w 2024 roku w Polsce na podstawie przekazów telewizji TVP Info i TVN 24

Praca magisterska pt. „Analiza wyborów do Parlamentu Europejskiego w 2024 roku w Polsce na podstawie przekazu telewizji TVN24 i TVP Info” poświęcona jest roli telewizji w kształtowaniu obrazu procesów politycznych oraz sposobom relacjonowania wyborów do Parlamentu Europejskiego przez dwa kluczowe kanały informacyjne w Polsce. Pierwszy rozdział przedstawia historię telewizji na świecie i w Polsce, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem rozwoju TVP i TVN. Badacz pokazuje proces przemian mediów od monopolu państwowego, przez liberalizację rynku po 1989 roku, aż po czasy współczesne. W rozdziale drugim omówiono instytucje europejskie, w tym Parlament Europejski i charakter wyborów do tej instytucji. Zwrócono uwagę na system wyborczy, liczbę mandatów przypadających Polsce oraz specyfikę okręgów wyborczych. Trzeci rozdział badacz poświęcił teorii i praktyce wieczorów wyborczych. Przedstawił ich rolę jako formy „event television”, omówił różnice między wyborami europejskimi, parlamentarnymi i prezydenckimi oraz przeanalizował format i skład gości zapraszanych do studia. Najważniejszą część pracy stanowi rozdział czwarty, w którym przeanalizowano wieczory wyborcze TVP Info i TVN24 w 2024 roku. Badacz pokazał, że choć obie stacje opierały się na tych samych danych, różniły się stylem narracji, doborem gości i akcentami przekazu. TVN24 akcentował europejski kontekst i pluralizm debaty, natomiast TVP Info, po zmianach politycznych w 2023 roku, próbowała odbudować swój wizerunek jako medium publiczne, co znalazło odzwierciedlenie w bardziej wyważonej, ale ostrożnej formule programu. Wnioski pracy wskazują, że sposób relacjonowania wyborów w dużym stopniu odzwierciedla profil i misję danego medium. Wieczory wyborcze nie są jedynie wydarzeniami medialnymi, lecz także testem wiarygodności i rzetelności dziennikarstwa. Analiza pokazuje, że telewizja w Polsce, mimo konkurencji ze strony internetu i mediów społecznościowych, pozostaje jednym z kluczowych źródeł informacji politycznej i ma istotny wpływ na funkcjonowanie demokracji.

The master's thesis entitled ‘Analysis of the 2024 European Parliament elections in Poland based on TVN24 and TVP Info television coverage’ is devoted to the role of television in shaping the image of political processes and the ways in which the European Parliament elections are reported by two key news channels in Poland. The first chapter presents the history of television in the world and in Poland, with particular emphasis on the development of TVP and TVN. The researcher shows the process of media transformation from a state monopoly, through market liberalisation after 1989, to the present day. The second chapter discusses European institutions, including the European Parliament and the nature of elections to this institution. Attention is drawn to the electoral system, the number of seats allocated to Poland and the specific nature of the constituencies. The researcher devotes the third chapter to the theory and practice of election night coverage. He presents its role as a form of ‘event television’, discusses the differences between European, parliamentary and presidential elections, and analyses the format and composition of guests invited to the studio.The most important part of the work is chapter four, which analyses the election nights of TVP Info and TVN24 in 2024. The researcher showed that although both stations used the same data, they differed in their narrative style, choice of guests and emphasis. TVN24 emphasised the European context and pluralism of the debate, while TVP Info, following political changes in 2023, attempted to rebuild its image as a public medium, which was reflected in a more balanced but cautious programme format. The conclusions of the study indicate that the way elections are covered largely reflects the profile and mission of a given media outlet. Election nights are not only media events, but also a test of the credibility and reliability of journalism. The analysis shows that television in Poland, despite competition from the internet and social media, remains one of the key sources of political information and has a significant impact on the functioning of democracy.
