Social and political determinants of the election of Petr Pavel as President of the Czech Republic is a thesis that aims to check what social and political conditions in the Czech Republic led to the election of Petr Pavel as the head of state. The work also answers the following questions: What mechanisms did P. Pavel use in the campaign? What are the differences between P. Pavel and previous presidents and what is special about his election? How have Czechs' preferences regarding the presidency changed over the years? In the first chapter, the key words of the work were defined. The second chapter contains a description of the political and legal aspects of the election of the President in the Czech Republic. The third chapter analyzes the social and political conditions that could have been favorable in the context of the election of P. Pavel as President. The fourth chapter was devoted to the analysis of the candidate's campaign in terms of these conditions and in relation to the campaign of A. Babiš.
