Enhancing Communication Skills in Multilingual Classroom

This master's thesis investigates the research question: What is the most effective way to teach communication skills in a multilingual classroom?. The study explores the challenges associated with fostering effective communication in a linguistically diverse educational setting and proposes innovative pedagogical methods to address these challenges. The research adopts an inclusive approach inspired by the principles of the No Child Left Behind method, emphasizing active engagement of all students in the learning process. The study examines the impact of multimedia learning materials, visual aids, and technology, such as online translators and language learning apps, on enhancing communication proficiency in a multilingual context. Furthermore, the research assesses the effectiveness of interactive methods, including discussion groups, language partnerships, and collaborative projects, as strategies to facilitate communication among students with different native languages. The study also investigates the creation of a classroom climate characterized by acceptance and mutual respect, aiming to encourage students to share their diverse linguistic experiences and skills. By identifying and addressing challenges associated with teaching communication skills in multilingual classrooms, this thesis contributes valuable insights to the field of language education. The findings offer practical recommendations for educators and curriculum developers seeking to create inclusive learning environments that optimize communication skills for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. The research aims to provide solutions focused on enhancing communication education in multicultural and multilingual educational settings.
