Zwischen Deutschland und der Türkei – das Bild der hybriden Identität in den ausgewählten Filmen von Fatih Akin

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza tożsamości hybrydycznej bohaterów filmów „Gegen die Wand” oraz „Auf der anderen Seite”. Przedmiotem analizy jest filmowe przedstawienie postaci będących reprezentantami drugiego pokolenia tureckich migrantów zarobkowych w Niemczech. Opierając się na metodzie kulturoznawczej i filmoznawczej, praca potwierdza teorię tożsamości hybrydycznej Homiego K. Bhabhy, który postrzega ją jako proces płynny i dynamiczny. W pracy przedstawiono tło historyczne stosunków niemiecko-tureckich oraz realia życia tureckich migrantów w Niemczech. Omówiono koncepcję „trzeciej przestrzeni oraz proces akulturacji migrantów, a także podstawy analizy postaci filmowych. Przedstawiono sylwetkę reżysera oraz dokonano analizy środków filmowych ukazujących tożsamość bohaterów.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the hybrid identity of the protagonists in the films “Gegen die Wand” and “Auf der anderen Seite”. The subject of the analysis is the cinematic representation of characters belonging to the second generation of Turkish labour migrants in Germany. Drawing on cultural and film studies methodology, the thesis confirms Homi K. Bhabha's theory of hybrid identity, which he conceives as a fluid and dynamic process. The study outlines the historical background of German-Turkish relations as well as the reality of Turkish migrants in Germany. Furthermore, the concept of the “Third Space” and the process of migrant acculturation are discussed, alongside the theoretical foundations of film character analysis. Finally, the profile of the director is presented, followed by an analysis of the cinematic means through which the identity of the protagonists is depicted.

Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die Analyse der hybriden Identität der Protagonisten in den Filmen „Gegen die Wand“ und „Auf der anderen Seite“. Gegenstand der Untersuchung ist die filmische Darstellung von Figuren, die der zweiten Generation türkischer Arbeitsmigranten in Deutschland angehören. Gestützt auf eine kultur- und filmwissenschaftliche Methode bestätigt die Arbeit die Theorie der hybriden Identität von Homi K. Bhabha, der diese als einen fließenden und dynamischen Prozess begreift. In der Arbeit werden der historische Hintergrund der deutsch-türkischen Beziehungen sowie die Lebenswirklichkeit türkischer Migranten in Deutschland dargestellt. Ferner werden das Konzept des „Third Space sowie der Prozess der Akkulturation von Migranten und die Grundlagen der Filmfigurenanalyse erläutert. Abschließend wird das Profil des Regisseurs vorgestellt und eine Analyse der filmischen Mittel vorgenommen, die die Identität der Protagonisten veranschaulichen.
