In the article the attempt of classification of autobiographic confessions of the Russian writers is undertaken on thematic principle. An author distinguishes three basic varieties of Russian writer confessions : 1. Confessions religious, oriented to expression of christian dogma basis of that is made by the plot of appeal; 2) Confessions are physiological, basis of that is stipulated by a process of physiological self-knowledge of author; 3) Confessions political, it is determined the plot of that: а) renegation of author, walking away from revolutionary persuasions and return on position of Orthodoxy and monarchy, в) the personal biography as way of finding of revolutionary persuasions and conscious creed of ideas of socialism, с) history of cooperation of two people, stipulating political tolerance of personality.
