Tożsamość i status tłumaczy z dysfunkcją wzroku

Rozprawa ta omawia warunki przygotowania do zawodu oraz pracy tłumaczy z dysfunkcją wzroku. Wpisuje się ona w studia nad niepełnosprawnością oraz socjologiczny nurt translatoryki. Dane zebrano przy pomocy metod jakościowych, tj. wywiadów pogłębionych, a następnie przeanalizowano wykorzystując teorię Pierre'a Bourdieu. Rozprawa, oprócz szczegółowego omówienia zagadnień związanych z kształceniem oraz warunkami pracy tłumaczy z dysfunkcją wzroku, zawiera rekomendacje, których wdrożenie poprawi dostępność tego zawodu dla osób słabowidzących i niewidomych.

This thesis discusses the education and working conditions of translators and interpreters with sight impairments. It is thus part of disability studies and sociologically-oriented research in translation studies. The data for this research were collected using qualitative methods, i.e. in-depth interviews, and then analysed using Pierre Bourdieu's theory. The thesis, apart from detailed discussion of issues related to education and working conditions of translators and interpreters with visual impairments, contains a series of recommendations which, if implemented, would improve the accessibility of this profession to the partially-sighted and the blind.
