Od resentymentów do populizmu. Antyniemiecka retoryka w polskiej polityce 2015-2023

Stosunki z Republiką Federalną Niemiec są stałym elementem polskiej polityki zagranicznej i debaty publicznej, co za każdym razem szczególnie wybrzmiewa w pełnym emocji okresie krajowych wyborów prezydenckich i parlamentarnych. To właśnie wtedy politycy doszukują się niemieckich koneksji u swoich konkurentów, straszą germanizacją, wpływami i utratą suwerenności Polski. Antyniemiecka retoryka wyznaczała rozległy obszar polityki zagranicznej w latach 2015-2023. Jej opisanie i analiza jest przedmiotem tej rozprawy. Aby zrozumieć to zjawisko w całej pełni i doniosłości, praca rozpoczyna się od teoretycznej analizy podstawowych pojęć populistycznej narracji politycznej oraz pojawiających się w niej figur i narzędzi propagandy, m.in.: figury wroga i różnego rodzaju stereotypów stanowiących ważny element populistycznej logiki antagonizmu oraz typowych dla niej taktycznych uproszczeń. Następna część pracy poświęcona jest w szczególności obecnemu postrzeganiu Niemiec i Niemców przez Polaków oraz polską klasę polityczną, a także związanym z tym wyobrażeniom i afektom. Na koniec antyniemieckie aspekty polityki zostają zilustrowane w analizie porównawczej Węgier, Grecji i Polski.

International relations with the Federal Republic of Germany are an inevitable part of the Polish foreign affairs policy, especially during the full emotional period of the presidential and parliamentary state elections. That is exactly when politicians seek to prove German connections to their opponents, haunt the nation with Germanization, with German influences, and with the loss of sovereignty of Poland. The anti-German narrative outlined the vast area of Polish foreign affairs in the years 2015-2023. Its description and analysis are the main topic of this thesis. To comprehend this phenomenon in all its fullness and significance, this thesis begins with theoretical analysis of the basic notions concerning the populistic narration and of the figures and tools of propaganda, inter alia the figure of enemy and different types of stereotypes constituting an important element of the populistic logic of antagonism and typical for it tactic simplifications. The following part of the thesis is devoted specifically to the recent perception of Germany and Germans through the Polish nation and the Polish political class, and connected to it, images and affects. In the end, the anti-German political contexts are illustrated in the comparative analysis of the case in Hungary, Greece, and Poland.
