Więzienna hierarchia czy ekspresja siebie? Zjawisko tatuażu więziennego w społeczności zakładu karnego

Zjawisko tatuażu więziennego jest obszarem interesującym badawczo, a także owianym tajemnicą ze względu na to, że społeczność więzienna jest hermetyczna, a jej zasady, normy i symbole, które obejmują również zdobienie ciała, są strzeżone sekretem. Niniejsza praca ma na celu ukazanie problematyki tatuażu więziennego oraz przedstawienie tego, jak ewoluował i zmieniał się na przestrzeni lat. Badacz podjął próbę zdefiniowania, czym jest tatuaż, w jaki sposób pojawił się on w zakładach karnych, a także jak obecnie postrzegany jest człowiek przyozdobiony rysunkami na swoim ciele. Poruszony został wątek historii tatuażu, jego funkcji, a w szczególności specyfiki tatuażu więziennego. Oprócz tego dokonano charakterystyki społeczności zakładu karnego, a także opisano tatuaże funkcjonariuszy Służby Więziennej. W ramach pracy magisterskiej zostały przeprowadzone badania, w których udział wzięło 200 skazanych odbywających karę w zakładzie karnym typu półotwartego. Respondentów zbadano metodą sondażu diagnostycznego, zaś narzędziem był kwestionariusz ankiety, składający się z pytań otwartych oraz zamkniętych. Analiza zebranych wyników wykazała, że zjawisko tatuażu więziennego na przestrzeni lat zmieniało swoje oblicze, choć związane z nim symbolika oraz mity i legendy nadal gdzieniegdzie funkcjonują, lecz dostęp do ich poznania i zrozumienia ma tylko określona grupa ludzi - uczestnicy podkultury więziennej, czyli tzw. „git-ludzie”.

The phenomenon of prison tattoos is an area of research interest and also shrouded in mystery due to the fact that the prison community is hermetic and its rules, norms and symbols, which also include body decoration- are secret. This book has to present the issue of prison tattoo and how it has evolved and changed over the years. The researcher attempted to define what a tattoo is how it appeared in prisons and how a person decorated with drawings on his body is currently perceived. What is more, we will see the topic of the history of the tattoo, tattoo function and in particular the specificity of the prison tattoo. Futhermore, the prison community was characterized and the tattoos of Prison Service officers were described. As part of my master's thesis, research was conducted on 200 prisoners serving their sentences in a semi-open prison. The respondents were examined using the diagnostic survey method and the instrument was a survey questionnaire consisting of open and closed questions. The analysis of the collected results showed that the phenomenon of prison tattoos has changed over the years, although the symbolism, myths and legends associated with it still exist here and there, but only a specific group of people has access to knowledge and understanding of them - participants of the prison subculture, i.e. git-ludzi.
