Analysis of agricultural activities and development of Parsęta, Reda, Rega and Słupia rivers catchments in the context of nutrients loads

Abstrakt (EN)

The following research presents analysis of development and agricultural changes on the catchments areas in the context of nutrients loads in the Parsęta, Reda, Rega and Słupia rivers. This rivers are flowing into the Baltic Sea. Excessive amount of nutrients that inflow with the rivers to the sea cause eutrophication, what is a very dangerous phenomenon for the biodiversity. In order to assess the progress of catchments municipalities, the Sustainable Development Index was built. This Index, agricultural data, advancements in wastewater systems and level of air pollution were compared to the nutrient loads and concentrations in the first decades of XXI century. It has been found that it is impossible to find direct interactions between the variables, but the more positive changes in the catchment area, the more probable it is, that the nutrients levels will start to diminish in the future.
