The aim of the study is to understand how faithfully swear words, which are an essential element of language in the series, are translated into Polish and what impact they have on conveying the original essence of the dialogues in translation. The introduction includes an overview of audiovisual translation theory, with a particular focus on the challenges of translating swearwords. It also discusses language taboos and cultural differences in swearing, highlighting how culture influences the choice of words used in translation. In different cultures, swearing and language taboos carry a different weight and connotation, which poses additional challenges for translators. The series Succession is briefly characterised in terms of its plot and the role of dialogues. The paper emphasises that the language and dialogues in the series are crucial for building characters and atmosphere. Curse words play an important role in creating a realistic picture of the depicted world and in portraying the complexity of the characters. The methodological analysis includes a description of the episodes selected for analysis and the criteria for the selection of curse words for analysis, which allows for a thorough and systematic study of the linguistic material.
