This study seeks to analyze the reasons why the Republic of Korea and Poland signed a large-scale defense industry agreement in July 2022. First, the relationship that has developed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was explained, and the details of the agreement reached from July 2022 to April 2024 were summarized. Next, we looked into Poland’s security strategy and military status in response to changes in international relations from the end of communism to the present when the Russian-Ukrainian war is ongoing. Through this, we confirmed Poland’s motivation for feeling the need for rearmament and deciding to sign an arms contract. Lastly, we analyzed the factors that made Korea an ideal weapons supplier during Poland’s rearmament process, unlike other arms export powers, and also explained why Korea decided to sign a defense industry agreement with Poland. Through this, we learned how large-scale military cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Poland took place.
