Abstrakt (EN)
This paper shortly presents results of archaeological excavations (2011-2014) at ancient town Akrai/Acrae, located in the interior of south-eastern Sicily, where since 2009, the University of Warsaw in cooperation with Soprintendenza dei Beni Culturali e Ambientali di Siracusa and Parco Archeologico di Eloro, leads the interdisciplinary archaeological research. The works were concentrated on examining and documenting the relics of a Late Hellenistic-Roman household, with notices various phases of occupation. Additionally, research concerns also the archaeometric studies (archaeobotany, lipid analysis), multidisciplinary reconstruction of ancient diet and local ancient landscape and geology of the region, as well as elaboration of material culture and human-environment relationships.
