Main tendencies in EU-ASEAN relations and their economic consequences

The thesis intends to analyse the EU-ASEAN relations through their bilateral developmental works in different fields. With the use of the theory of Cooperation and Competition by Morton Deutsch, the circumstances of both cooperation and competition are able to be observed throughout the EU-ASEAN relations. The thesis is divided into three chapters, the first chapter introduces the background and the brief historical concepts of both the EU and ASEAN and the theory of Cooperation and Competition by Morton Deutsch, the second chapter focuses on the topics of the areas of the bilateral development and their connections in different aspects of political, economic and socio-cultural fields that foster both the situation of cooperation and competition, and the third chapter discusses the influences in various aspects and the economic consequences of the bilateral relations using data and official documents from both the EU and ASEAN to directly show and reflect the circumstances of their relations and the characteristics of both cooperation and competition.
