Dawne i współczesne słowniki wielojęzyczne. Thesaurus polyglottus (1603), Linguarum totius orbis vocabularia comparativa (1786-89) i Wikisłownik

The aim of the paper is to compare three polyglot dictionaries that comprise the material of as many languages as possible. The 17th century Thesaurus Polyglottus covers about 400 tongues, the dictionary of Catherine II embrace the vocabulary of more than 200 languages, and the present-day Wiktionary offers information about words and phrases of at least 3000 languages. The focus is on what has changed in the way of presenting the equivalence between words and expressions in different languages in the dictionaries of this type.
