Zagospodarowanie turystyczne geostanowisk w kontekście koncepcji przestrzeni turystycznej – przykłady z Afryki Południowej
Abstrakt (EN)
The article concerns the application of the concept of tourism space in relation to geosites in selected Southern African countries. According to this concept, the development of the tourism function in a selected place may occur in fve stages: exploration, penetration, assimilation, colonization and domination (S. Liszewski calls it the urbanization phase). The research carried out in 2016, 2017 and 2019 shows that the Swartfontein-Gatdam (Namibia) geosite is at the exploration phase, the Ngonye Falls (Zambia) is at the penetration phase, the Ghaub Cave (Namibia) is at the assimilation phase, the Waterberg (Namibia) is at the colonisation phase, and the geosites Gross Barmen (Namibia) and Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe/Zambia) are at the dominance phase. After describing individual cases, in the discussion was proposed a schematic model of the evolution of tourism space in the context of the geosites. On the basis of the conducted research, two basic types of changes in tourism space have been distinguished: concerning a given site (type A) and concerning a region (type B).
