The work begins with a discussion of the problem of selecting the intended model for a theory, along with a presentation of some of the existing attempts to resolve this issue, indicating the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. The main part of the work concerns an attempt to characterize the intended model by means of the Scott rank—an approach proposed by Dariusz Kalociński. In the final part of the work, a hypothesis is formulated concerning the existence of multiple models of the same Scott rank for the subsystem of second-order arithmetic RCA_0. A result is proved that links the existence of a Scott sentence of a specific complexity for the intended model of RCA_0 with the existence of a sentence in the language of first-order arithmetic that defines enumerations of recursive sets among arbitrary subsets of the natural numbers. Finally, a proposal is presented for completing the proof of the nonexistence of simpler models for RCA_0.
