O non-lugar na emigración galega. O espazo e o corpo como portadores de memoria en Adiós María de Xohana Torres
Abstrakt (EN)
In this article we will analyse how in Xohana Torres’ novel Adiós María home and body act as a repository of the memories generated (MacDowell 2000 [1999]) by the different mobility processes transited by the main character, Maxa. In addition, we will examine how the ‘Promise of Happiness’ (Ahmed 2010), which serves as the emigrant’s motivation for departing, transforms the present in a continuous waiting period and creates, partially due to the overlapping of two migrations (one from Galicia to European countries and another one from rural to urban areas), anonymous border spaces without identity: non-places inhabited by those who await the return of the emigrants while renegotiating their identity.
