Las técnicas y estrategias de traducción en el doblaje castellano a base de los capítulos elegidos de la serie The Chosen

Celem niniejszej pracy jest zbadanie technik tłumaczeniowych (Hurtado Albir, 2001) i strategii tłumaczeniowych (Hejwowski, 2007) zastosowanych w hiszpańskim dubbingu wybranych odcinków amerykańskiego serialu The Chosen. W tym celu przeprowadzona została analiza fragmentów wybranych dialogów z wyżej wymienionego serialu. Po pierwsze, wskazane zostały techniki tłumaczeniowe użyte we wszystkich dialogach pochodzących z wybranych odcinków serialu. Po drugie, dialogi te zostały podzielone na fragmenty ukazujące użycie zidentyfikowanych wcześniej technik i podzielone na kategorie odpowiadające technikom tłumaczeniowym, które w nich wystąpiły. Następnie wybrane fragmenty dialogów zostały przeanalizowane pod kątem językowym, semantycznym i pragmatycznym poprzez porównanie wersji oryginalnej w języku angielskim z hiszpańskim dubbingiem. W dalszej kolejności zidentyfikowane techniki tłumaczeniowe zostały podzielone na te powiązane ze strategią egzotyzacji oraz ze strategią udomowienia. Po wykonaniu obliczeń matematycznych okazało się, że liczba przykładów użycia technik powiązanych ze strategią egzotyzacji była wyższa niż liczba przykładów użycia technik powiązanych ze strategią udomowienia. Wobec powyższego strategią tłumaczeniową przeważającą w hiszpańskim dubbingu była egzotyzacja, a technikami tłumaczeniowymi najczęściej użytymi przez tłumaczy — tłumaczenie dosłowne i modulacja. Badanie polegało także na porównaniu skoposu i typu tekstu oryginalnego oraz przetłumaczonego (zgodnie z teoriami Vermeera i Reiß (2013)), a także na przeanalizowaniu wpływu przesunięć tłumaczeniowych na sposób przedstawienia postaci w serialu i na bogactwo językowe w hiszpańskim dubbingu. Wyniki badania wykazały, że skopos oraz typ tekstu są jednakowe w przypadku wersji oryginalnej oraz dubbingu. Przesunięcia tłumaczeniowe zaś wpłynęły nieznacznie na sposób przedstawienia niektórych postaci, podczas gdy bogactwo językowe zmalało w hiszpańskim dubbingu w porównaniu z wersją oryginalną.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate the translation techniques (Hurtado Albir, 2001) and translation strategies (Hejwowski, 2007) used in the Spanish dubbing of selected episodes of the American television series The Chosen. For this reason, an analysis of fragments of selected dialogues from the series was carried out. Firstly, translation techniques were identified in all the dialogues from the selected episodes. Secondly, the dialogues were divided into fragments representing the use of the mentioned techniques and grouped into categories based on the translation techniques identified in them. Later, the fragments were analysed from a linguistic, semantic and pragmatic perspective, comparing the original version in English with the dubbed version in Spanish. After that, the techniques were grouped based on their tendency towards the foreignization strategy and the domestication strategy. Then, based on mathematical calculations, it was established that the number of techniques tending towards foreignization exceeded the number of techniques tending towards domestication. Consequently, it was determined that the dominating strategy used by the translators was foreignization and that the translators used most often literal translation and modulation techniques. Moreover, the skopos and the type of the original and the translated text (according to the theories of Vermeer and Reiß (2013)) were compered and the influence of the translation shifts on the presentation of the series’ characters and the linguistic richness of the translated text in the dubbed version was explored. The study revealed that the skopos and text type of the original and the translated text are the same, while the translation shifts influenced subtly the presentation of some of the characters, and the linguistic richness decreased in the translated text.

El objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación es explorar las técnicas de traducción (Hurtado Albir, 2001) y las estrategias de traducción (Hejwowski, 2007) utilizadas en el doblaje castellano de episodios elegidos de la serie estadounidense The Chosen. Con este fin, se llevó a cabo un análisis de fragmentos de los diálogos elegidos de la serie. En primer lugar, en todos los diálogos de los episodios seleccionados se identificaron las técnicas de traducción utilizadas por los traductores. En segundo lugar, los diálogos se dividieron en fragmentos representativos del uso de dichas técnicas y se agruparon en categorías según las técnicas de traducción identificadas. Posteriormente, se analizaron desde una perspectiva lingüística, semántica y pragmática, comparándose la versión original en inglés y la doblada al castellano. Después, las técnicas se agruparon según su tendencia a la estrategia de extranjerización y la estrategia de domesticación. Seguidamente, se calculó que el número de las técnicas tendientes a la extranjerización superó el número de las técnicas tendientes a la domesticación. En consecuencia, se determinó que la estrategia dominante aplicada por los traductores era la extranjerización y que los traductores recurrieron con más frecuencia a las técnicas de traducción literal y modulación. Además, en el estudio se comparó el escopo y el tipo del texto original con el texto traducido (según las teorías de Vermeer y Reiß (2013)) y se averiguó la influencia de los desplazamientos en la traducción en la caracterización de los personajes de la serie y en la riqueza lingüística en el doblaje castellano. Se reveló que el escopo y el tipo del texto traducido es igual al texto original, mientras que los desplazamientos en la traducción influyeron de una manera sutil en la caracterización de algunos de los personajes, y la riqueza lingüística se disminuyó en la versión doblada.
