Técnicas y estrategias de traducción de canciones en el doblaje polaco y español de la película Princess and the Frog

W niniejszej pracy analizowane są narzędzia używane przez tłumaczy w przekładzie wybranych piosenek z filmu „The Princess and the Frog” wytwórni Walta Disneya: „Almost There”, „Dig a Little Deeper” oraz „Down in New Orleans” z języka angielskiego na język hiszpański i polski. Głównym celem pracy jest analiza porównawcza technik i strategii tłumaczeniowych użytych w tłumaczeniach utworów muzycznych oraz zbadanie, jak wykorzystanie tych rozwiązań językowych wpływa na przekład elementów kulturowych oraz na sposób ukazania cech socjolingwistycznych tekstu źródłowego w tekście docelowym. Dodatkowo obserwuje się jak trudności w tłumaczeniu dubbingu o charakterze technicznym i kulturowym, dążenie do osiągnięcia maksymalnej naturalności tekstu śpiewanego oraz synchronizacja obrazu z dźwiękiem warunkują decyzje tłumaczeniowe w obliczu wyzwań tłumaczeniowych takich jak markery socjolektalne African American Vernacular English. Przeprowadzona analiza pokazuje, że mimo wspólnej neutralizacji AAVE, wersja hiszpańska dąży do synchronizacji wizualnej, podczas gdy polska do śpiewności utworów (singability).

This study analyzes the tools adopted by dubbing translators from English into Spanish and Polish for three selected songs from Walt Disney Animation Studios' film The Princess and the Frog: “Almost There”, “Dig a Little Deeper” and “Down in New Orleans”. The primary objective is to carry out a comparative analysis of the techniques and strategies applied when addressing the translation of musical pieces. This study aims to evaluate how the implementation of linguistic tools conditions the transfer of extralinguistic cultural references and the representation of the sociolinguistic features of the source text in the target text. Furthermore, it examines technical and cultural constraints in dubbing, the pursuit of singability and visual synchrony condition, and translation decisions regarding complex sociolectal markers such as African American Vernacular English (AAVE). The analysis indicates that, despite the shared neutralization of AAVE, the Spanish version strives for visual synchrony, whereas the Polish adaptation prioritizes the singability.

En este trabajo se analizan las herramientas adoptadas por los traductores, del inglés al español y al polaco, de tres canciones seleccionadas de la película The Princess and the Frog de Walt Disney Animation Studios: Almost There, Dig a Little Deeper y Down in New Orleans. El objetivo fundamental consiste en realizar un análisis comparativo de las técnicas y estrategias aplicadas por traductores al abordar la traducción de las piezas musicales. Se busca evaluar de qué manera la implementación de las herramientas lingüísticas condiciona la transferencia de los referentes culturales extralingüísticos y la representación de los rasgos sociolingüísticos del texto origen. Asimismo, se estudia cómo las dificultades de carácter técnico y de índole cultural en traducción del doblaje, la búsqueda de la cantabilidad y la sincronía visual condicionan las decisiones traductológicas frente a las dificultades traductológicas como marcadores sociolectales como el African American Vernacular English (AAVE). Los resultados sugieren que, si bien ambas versiones eliminan componente sociolectal del AAVE, el doblaje español opta por la sincronía visual, en contraposición al polaco, que antepone la cantabilidad (singability).
