Nieśmiertelność w taoizmie: doktryna religijna a taoizm ludowy w Chinach na przykładzie postaci Ośmiorga Nieśmiertelnych

Niniejsza praca ma na celu analizę terminu nieśmiertelności na przykładzie postaci Ośmiorga Nieśmiertelnych w kontekście doktryny religijnej taoizmu oraz tradycji taoizmu ludowego w Chinach. Ukazuje, że sposób postrzegania nieśmiertelności jest odmienny w doktrynie religijnej i w przekazach ludowych. Najważniejsze materiały źródłowe przyjęte w pracy to: wybrane teksty tradycji Zhong-Lü, powieść Wędrówka na Wschód (东游记) oraz ludowe historie oralne, zawarte w Zbiorze chińskich opowieści ludowych (中国民间故事集成). Pierwszy rozdział pracy przybliża postaci Ośmiorga Nieśmiertelnych i genezę grupy. Drugi rozdział poświęcony jest głównie zjawisku nieśmiertelności w kontekście doktryny taoizmu religijnego w Szkole Urzeczywistnienia Prawdy. Rozdział trzeci przedstawia pojęcie nieśmiertelności w kontekście tradycji taoizmu ludowego.

This work aims to provide an accessible perspective on the concept of immortality, in the context of Daoist religious doctrine and the tradition of Folk Daoism in China, using the Eight Immortals as an example. It demonstrates that the perception of immortality differs between religious doctrine and folk tradition. The key sources used in this work include selected texts from the Zhong-Lü tradition, the novel Journey to the East (东游记), and oral folk tales contained in the Collection of Chinese Folk Tales (中 国民间故事集成). The first chapter introduces the figures of the Eight Immortals and the origins of the group. The second chapter is primarily devoted to the phenomenon of immortality in the context of the religious Daoist doctrine of the Quanzhen School. The third chapter presents the concept of immortality in the context of oral Folk Daoism tradition.
